I want to reverse a 3-inch body lift on my 97 TJ - my question is this: What all do I need to buy and are there manufacturers that sell kits to do this? I didnít put the body lift on so I have no idea how to reverse it nor do I have the original partz.

If all the original rubber body mounts are gone and replaced with the plastic ones, then you will sort of have to start from scratch.

Option 1. Find out what the parts would cost from your local stealership. Most likely they will be excessively expensive.

Option 2. Go online to almost any aftermarket Jeep part site, like Quadratec or possibly JC Whitney and order a Daystar kit. It is a 1" BL kit and is complete with everything you need to replace out the 3" kit. If you get the black version, its almost invisable. The yellow and red versions do attract attension. Last time I looked the Daystar kit sells for @ $135 bucks. So fairly reasonable.

Thanks for the quick info. Do I understand you correctly that the Daystar is equivalent in lift to what the factory rubber will provide? Bascially I want to be done with this BL so I can go about installing a susp lift that I bought.

Thanks

Nevermind - I just answered my own question. Quadratec sells a factory body cab spacer replacement set (without washers and bolts) for about $60. Then I can buy the bolts and washers from Jeep for probably about the same price.

The replacement set is polyurethane instead of rubber, and supposed to outperform as last longer.

Check with Jeep first - sometimes they sell stuff like the hardware as a complete package (i.e. they'll only sell you the bushings, bolts and washers together). If you're looking to go back to stock, check around - people who have installed body lifts probably have the OEM mounts laying around collecting dust. Wink

but if you do replace the bolts, make sure you get grade 8 bolts, would hate for the bolts to snap in a fender bender

Stock and what's supplied aftermarket are grade 5s. They are of sufficient strength.
