Was wondering what rear bumper set up people are using? I need to add a tire carrier and want the Gas can set up as well. Lots to chose from and none are cheap so want to be sure I get a tested set up. I have the factory deal that came with the jeep. The previous owner took it off years ago and never put it back on but all of it hangs on the body. Has to be too much weight with larger tire and 10 gallons of fluid.

Thanks in advance

Well 40 folks dropped by and not a response.... Very Happy

After hours of waffling back and forth and visiting way too many websites which actually only made it more confusing I went with Hanson Enterprise Front and will use Bullet Proof bumper set up for rear.

I used a 4x4 tube 3/16 wall. I bolted it on with brakets I made that connected to the frame. Then I added custom pull points where I bolted the bummper to the frame. My cj 5 can be picked up with a crane from the bummper and haing there a long time. Nice thing about a jeep, you can custom build anything you want.

Here's a DIY bumper if you have welding skills. http://www.earlycj5.com/tech/body/quaggy/diy_tire_carrier.shtml

You can also send Dozer Dan a PM. he builds all sorts of goodies. Wink
