Ok, need some advice on the rear BB on my XJ. Which do you prefer and why: blocks or shackles?

Keep in mind that shackles need to be twice as long as the desired gain in height. So if you want to match a 2" BB up front, you'll need 4" longer shackles.

I would not reccomend shackles that are 4" longer than stock. It will change your pinion angle severely and cause excessive U joint wear or breakage. When you accelerate the rear axle pivots backwards (axle wrap) and with the longer shackles you will add alot of stress to the joint. I would stick to 2" longer than stock or less, If you need more lift than that you should replace the springs.
