Hello friends. Quick question...my 89 Cherokee has a new symptom. When turning corners (and ONLY when turning) it does that weird hesitation thing...you know, you really think it's gonna stall and somehow it finally gets with the program and pulls out of the stall. I notice when I floor it right when it starts to stall, it responds rather quickly. So I'm assuming fuel pump. Here are my questions:

1. Is there anything else it could be? Perhaps some leak/opening in the fuel system?

2. How much is "reasonable" to replace a fuel pump (should it turn out to be that)?

While I'd love to take the time to learn to do it myself, we're having to rely on my "second car" (that is, the Jeep) for everyday transportation right now.

Thanks for reading!

My 1997 Xj Sport is having the same problem. Stalling coming out of turns and sometimes taking off quickly. It seems that mine is doing it only when it gets below about half a tank. I have been told it could be fuel pump or filter. Both are expensive since i got lucky and have my filter and pump inside the tank Neutral For now I just keep the tank above halfway and it does fine. I'll post back if I decide to drop the tank this weekend and check it out.

This may be of some help but I had an S-10 that did this... Would stall when the gas was pressed down, even little bit. It was a TPS (throttle positioning Sensor). Maybe just another thing you can check out.
