Hi, I would think you could put the hole almost anywhere. You may have to extend the inside hose to go around a little but... you could also try moving the circuit box, no?

I saw an xterra with snorkel the other day in a parking lot and got a closer look and it looks pretty easy. The body lines look pretty similar to my 94 GC. I think I would have to move the circuit box but that would probably be it. I would also have to fab a braket to hold the top part of the snorkel. Seems like a pretty easy job. The fun part will be putting something together that would give me a place to put the air filter. I need to get a little more info on what comes with the snorke, most notabley does it come with some sort of provision for where to put an air filter or do I have to sort that out for myself.

yep, I saw that, and it looked like the corrugated hose had a LOT of play in it to go around things. As for the filter, I think you could use almost anything that would hold a filter element, and is sealed at the same time. I'm thinking piece of large PVC pipe, with reducers on each end, any kind of empty can(coffee) painted inside and out to stop corrosion, or check swampy's hook up with paint can at http://jeephorizons.com/tech/zjsnorkel.html That's my best bet! Good luck bro'! Post pics when you're done.

yep i saw that, thats when i noticed that swampys jeep is set up little different, being that he has the 5.2 i think, and i have the 4.0. but yeah i look in to it, and started fabricating a place for the filter, used the coffee can like swampy did. but its gonna take some time relocating that box.
but well see how it goes.
