2004 V6 4WD bought new is now making a loud noise when shifting into any gear. Did not do this when new...took it to dealer (under warranty) who states all jeeps makes these noises...I must have dumb written all over my face.....anyway the noise is hard to describe in a forum..but it is really noticeable when I am in my garage and shift into gear...it then makes a clanking rubbing kind of sound with loud metallic squeaking if you can follow that.....also, the brakes..when I shift I have my foot on the brake and when I begin to let off I get this loud metal squeaking noise...I have already had brake work done at 12K for the warping..I now have 20K and most of those are interstate miles...I have not used the 4WD as of yet..even though I lived in N.M. for the first 10K and I am now in Florida...Can't wait to get out of here and back to the mountains...any ideas folks for someone that only knows how to put gas in an auto...however I do maintain my vehicle very well...thanks

I get the metallic screachy sound when using my clutch.

Not sure if it's just a dry linkage....but had a guy tell me that his has been doing it for 10yrs....guess that's ok! haha

Guess I'll have to go to the local dealership and test drive another 2004 and see if I notice any of the same problems...if I do then I guess it is an inherrent problem, if not, then I can make comparisons to Jeep maintenence and see what they have to say to that.....
