Ok, first, will the factory roof rack bars hold 2 offroad lights, or are they too weak and wimpy? I dont want to spend a bunch of cash on a light bar, and the factory rack looks so easy to use. Will it work?

Second, how do you do the SUT conversion, where you make the cargo area open? Are there any issues with weakening the unibody, or can i do it without making a cage? Will the back window from my hatch work if i hack it up, or should i use a rear window from a commanche, or what? Any ideas would be great.

Here are two KCs mounted using the factory roof lights installed in about an hour. (Minus running to Autozone twice for extra wiring.) I helped 1fox2go install these about 3 weeks to a month ago. I dunno if the racks are the same or not, but I'm just showing you it can be done.

As for the back hack, look at the link that Code3TJ posted Wink

The roof rack works great. It doesnt look too strong, but they dont wobble around on bumps or anything. thanks alot! As for the roof chop job, I think i'll put it off til summer when i can work outside. I'm going to try the rear window section of a commanche and see how good i really am with a mig welder.

is your rack the same as the ZJ? so far ive had no problems with it and being my DD taking it off really helps with the wind drag going back and forth to school
