I was just wondering if anyone knows where the oil pressure sending unit is on the 5.2, ive changed them on the 4.0 is it pretty much the same process or is there more too it? Im actually not positive that its the sending unit, but one day i was driving and it started going nuts but there was no change in the power or anyhorrible sounds and now the guage doesnt really work and every once in a while bounce's around a little bit, this is the only thing i think it could be becuase i have been running it like this for about 4 months and there are no signs of bad oil pressure. Thanks.

On a 5.2 it is behind the distributor ..Kinda a pain to get to but get the tool and about a 10" extension.. and you can get her out of there... Mr. Green

Mchinz,
I recently had a problem with my oil pres gauge and warning lite, telling me I had no oil pressure. I went nuts trying to figure it out, because I had plenty of oil in it, plus, like you, I didn't hear any death noises coming from the engine after driving it like that. Went for about a week like that, then it dawned on me. It's all computer controlled. So I disconnected my battery for a half an hour, hooked it back up, started the motor and VOILA! Oil pressure checked normal again.
Maybe, just maybe, yours is doing the same thing. It's definately worth a try.
