The maintenance required trouble light on my 92 YJ came on a few thousand miles back, which is normal at about 80,000 mi. How can I turn it off myself. It's a pain. Crying or Very sad

If I remember correctly, the check engine light comes on and stays on because it is time for a scheduled maintenance check. i.e. O2 sensor etc . . .

According to the service manual, you need to have a DRB diagnostic tool to erase the code. Unless you know someone with this tool, then you will have to take it into a shop and have them do it.

My 92 'maintinence light came on too around 80,000. I had it turned off by the stealership while they were doing warranty work.
At around 120,000 miles the light came back on again, this is right after I had the stealership install the new e brake assy. due to the recall.
The light is annoynig but I sure as hell aint gonna pay to get it turned off.

Just disconnect it under the dash. It is a little clear box.

Mines been unhooked since it first came on.
