Thats the Challenger concept car.

Ive seen some so called spy shots of that a while back and it is very cool. I loved that styling as a kid and realy love the retro look it has. Simular to the retro look of the 05 Mustangs.
Thats the Challenger Concept car.

I think that is a huge mistake for auto manufactures when they re-introduce a classic named model that has nothing to do with the heritage of the original product. GM is a great one for bringing back classic models in shitbox form. I beleive this is why GM and/or Chevy has been in such hard times these days. I think of the reissue abortions such as the Nova or Impala. Great cars in the day. but both got downsized and turned into the shitboxes they are today and look nothing like the used to.

Even the current Dodge Charger which is a nice car but has nothing in common with its heritage and styling. Im wondering if this is why they arent selling well. It could be blamed on the economy or something like that, but if that where the case, then the 05/06 Mustangs would be effected the same way. But they arent. Dealers get full retail for the Stangs and cant keep them on the lots.

It was a late night - yes, the Challenger. rofl

I agree, the Chargers are nice, but there's absolutely no connection to the original other than a similar grill. And you're right, a friend of mine is on a waiting list for a Mustang while there are about 5 Chargers sitting at my local dealership.

I am a Chevy guy and always will be. But the last 5 or 6 years I've become more of a muscle car fan, meaning that if I see a Chevy, Ford or Dodge Muscle car that looks clean and sounds well tuned I'll give the driver a thums up.
And your right, us GM guys and gals have had nothing to really to get excited about, except for the GTO witch has very good performance but looks like a big Camery. And Camero concept that looks similar to the 69', and that car is looking doubtful because of labor disputes with Canada ( last I heard of anyway ).
I'm all for bringing back cars that you could look at and tell what they are instead of these "cookie cutter" cars that all look like...the Toyota Camery.

By the way, the Challenger thatís pictured looks bitchen, lets just hope it has the bite to go with itís bark.

A little off subject, but I saw one of these today. All black, its sharp. I knew at 1st glance that it was a new model, but what realy surprised me was that it didnt say MAZDA, TOYOTA, or NISSAN anywhere on it.

The new Pontiac Solstice.

Its a very sharp roadster and from what I hear its very affordable. List starts @ $20k and nicely decked out upwards of $26k.

I went down to Pontiac dealership when they got their first Solstice in. I drove my Fiero down and struck up a conversation with the only salesman that was there when Fiero's were being sold. After talkin to him for a bit about my car, he let me sit in the Solstice and open the hood and pretty go all over it. Very nice car! Pretty roomy too, reminds me of my Fiero, looks really small and sharp, but has loads of room inside (I'm 6'2"). I still think they should have made it a mid-engine, but that could just be my bias! Wink I'm wondering how long it'll be until they stuff the supercharged Cobalt SS engine in it. The salesman was wondering the same thing too. I saw in the new Car and Driver that someone has already put an LS2 (400hp) in one. That would be one heck of a ride!

Ive3 been tinkering with the idea of buying one of the new Mustangs, but I would have been realy pissed If I had and then find out that the Challanger was coming down the pipe.

But Im wondering what price tag will be on it. DC isnt affraid at all to put high price tags on thier vehicles. What realy made the Mustang a winner, wasnt just the look. Its a well made thought out car and it comes with an affordable price tag. IF its all about looks a V6 with plenty of grunt can be had for under $18k. The V8 all decked out only goes @ $26-27k area.

Should DC be competitive with thier pricing it will sell like mad, just like the Mustangs. But if they are in the $30k+ area, they will sit on the lots.

Ive also seen the concept Camero and like most of the other vintage renamed cars GM produces, I dont see much of a resemblance with the 69. It will probably come with the V4 standard and be upgradable to the I5 hunk of crap. And both engines will be so overly choked that like the rest of the cars produced by GM these days, they wont have the balls to pull a greased string out of an elephants ass.

ROFLOL...your joking right? I guess the LT1/LT4/LS1/LS2/LS7 powerplants are "ball-less" right?! So, what essembly line powerplant do you believe 'has balls'?

Just curious... Cool

For the most part these days, no one realy has a ballz to the wall powerplant. OBDxx laws have seen to that.

And if It wasnt obvious enough, Ill speeel it out for you.

I D O N T L I K E G M P R O D U C T S !!!111!!!! rofl

And anyway I didnt mention any other GM engines other than the P.O.S. V4 and I5 that GM is installing thier cars these days. I didnt even hint at the others...so there...neener neener neaner

like it or not, they put a big V8 in it and a 6spd, I will own one.

I LOVE the era styling. when I was doing work on a 69 charger for a guy, I would just go out in the garage and sit looking at it.
