I was looking at a '93 model Limited w. the 4.0L engine and automatic transmission today, that apparently was imported used from Germany. The transfer case had only 4full - N - 4Lo positions, so I was wondering if the Austrian made Cherokees might be using different transfer cases from the US made ones? Anybody have any info on this; what type, and how do they compare to the NP242? For that matter, does anybody have any info on how the Austrian Cherokees compare overall with their US counterparts (in terms of, f.x., build quality, or rust protection)?

Thanks,
Kari in Iceland.
