I have a 1998 jeep cherokee classic I have changed the stater 5 times within the past 8 months the battery has been changed the cables fuses relays park neutral safety switch yet the vehicle will not start. dash lights come on but starter does not turn over.

I just bought another cherokee, If it is in park, the thing will not turn over. Just for the heck of it, I put it in Neutral, and it turned over, but I had to pump it a couple times to get it to fire up. Im trying to figure out why this is, maybe yours is the same way.

your problem sounds more like the NSS is in need of adjustment or a good cleaning.

Have you checked the engine ground strap? I had similar problems with a different make of car some years ago, and that was the cause.

Ya sounds like grounding issues. A short someplace real hard to find.
