My US spec '05 CRD (bought new last Oct) has factory Front fog lights. The other day I was looking at the fuze box and the spot for rear fogs has a fuze in the slot. I turned on the fogs and the rear fogs do not light up.

Two questions:

1. Is the lower red section of rear tail light(s) the rear fog light(s)?

2. Is their a seperate switch or a seperate position on the light switch stalk for their operation?

The reason I ask is I would like to have the rear fogs if all I have to do is put in the correct bulbs and would like a little info on how to do the change over if it's possible.

I have never heard of "rear fogs". No, the lower part of the taillight is not a fog light, if I remember right from my mom's KJ when she had it, that is just a reflector.

I sure you haven't, that's why I was asking the European members. There is a rear fog light fuse position in the fuse box and it has a fuse installed from factory. I was wondering if it was set up like my MB and VW's, where all I had to do was install the proper bulb.

It appears the wiring is there, but they have used a different bulb holder without a place to install the bulb. That may mean I would have to order a Euro light assembly, as it appears to be a sealed unit with the bulbs on o'ring sealed twist in holders without the bottom holder.

the factory service manual goes on and on about the relay and the wiring to it....but can't seem to nail down the operation of the lamp itself. --ok, found out that there's a third position on the turn signal stalk for activating them....and some more info too.

if anyone can show me how to save just one or two pages out of a full .pdf file - i could save the pertinent pages and email them to you. the file itself is over 70mb...so emailing that isn't an option.

Man you got me there man.

Well this pretty much means that it requires new stalk and tail light assemblys for rear fogs, that would make cost to high for me. I might look into new Euro lights if I could make them work as extra tail & brake light instead of fog. But from the way is is sounding I am out of luck.

Yes, i have rear fog lights. The procedure to turn on them, is:
1.Rotate the light switch knob, 2 times forward, for the main beam.
2.Pull out once, the light switch knob, for the front fog lights.
3.Rotate once forward, for the rear fog lights.
Mine has the sign of the rear fog lights, on the light switch stalk.
Hope to help you.

Having looked into the fogs more, it would be awful expensive. Requires new tail light assembly, new stalk, and looks like some wiring. Think this project is dead for me.
