I actually just went through the exact same thing. Brake light working fine when headlights off and not working when they were on. I spent 300.00 having the thing diagnosed and it turned out that I had to replace the entire tail light assembly on that side. It had something to do with an internal light controller. It works fine now. they were expensive through the dealer but online I paid half as much.

Thanks for the input.
I was reading where several people had just changes the sockets and fixed the problem.....
I replaced sockets last night and tonight while following my wife the right stop light went out again....

Time to shop for lamps...

Thanks,
Ken TN

Where did you buy them online?

I bought them from carpartswholesale.com. Cost a fraction of what dealer costs and I think the quality is very good for aftermarket. I also bought two new headlights for the price of one I could get from a friend who works at a bodyshop. The bodyshop now uses carpartswholesale as well.
