Stalled the Wrangler, 2005 24000 km 4l, the other day and on attempt to restart the ignition fuse blew, 25 amp. The Jeep Assist man replaced the fuse and we were away, for 24 hours when it happened again. Same guy got us going again and then the dealer had a look for an hour or so. Of course the problem would not resurface.

Next day, today at night stopped the Jeep at home and then went to restart straight away and the fuse blew again. When everything cooled down, replaced the fuse and things seem OK again.

There is something wrong here! I call on the collective genius and experience of forum users for advice please. Anyone got a clue as to which component is giving me grief.

Not going to like this answer, but if you're still under warranty, take it to a dealer and let them fix it. I don't know what kind, if any, of lemon laws you have. If this is legitimate problem that can't be fixed, it would be better to have the dealer do the work and have everything documented. If it's under warranty, you won't be paying for it either.

Sounds like a bad starter ground...did you check it? Check all the motor grounds, just to rule them out.

Does your airbag light also come on when the fuse blows?

When the starter went bad in our 2004 X, and would blow the fuse, the airbag light would come on also.

The dealer replaced the starter under warrenty, and down the road we have been since then. That was back in July.

It does sound like a starter that is going bad.
