NOPE!!!

<rant>
Well, yesterday I wake up and guess what I find, someone had hit my PARKED Jeep. I've been parking in the same spot in front of my house for 4 years...and some silver Acura plows into the passengers side front wheel/tire.

The superficial damage appears minimal to the Jeep.
He cut my brand new 32" tire on the sidewall, transfered some of his paint on my Bushwacker flare (other wise it's perfectly fine) and busted my turn signal lense. It looks like my tire/rim took the brunt of the hit. His damage HAD to have been MUCH worse, this Acura left body pieces EVERYWHERE! I know it was a silver acura from the body pieces and part of a wheel he left behind...so I filed a police report, then an insurance claim. The police didn't care a bit about the suspect vehicle, which is par for the course.

What concerns me the most is that the wheel looked 'cocked' after I put the spare on, most likely bent suspension components. I had her flat bedded to the shop, I expect to hear from them tomorrow.

UGH!!! And of course...they didn't leave a note...I've NEVER been in an accident, now this is the SECOND time something happened in front of my house (1st time someone egged my brand new HemiSport about 1.5yrs ago)...I just gotta move.
</rant>

...but think of the pain in the ass to have to remove the tires and have it sitting on cinder blocks every time he parks it. That and the added expense of having to purchase a refrigerator to plop out there and then having to find some of those plywood cutouts of the fat chicks bending over. Let's not make a project for the man here, his Jeep just got smacked flipoff agree .

Seriously, sorry to hear about the crap luck. Hope ya get it back together ASAP Smile .

That sucks! Here is a story that made me stop parking on the side of the road.

I have never felt to bad about parking my jeep on the side of the raod since I live in a pretty small neighborhood. Then one night after a rainy day I was on my way home from work at 3:30 in the morning when i notice this kid and his ricer tiburon stuck in a ditch on the side of the road. When I stopped to talk he said that it was slick and he "lost traction" around the corner. I looked at his tires, which were stock, and told him to sit tight while I went to go get my tow rope. When I got back I hooked him up and dropped it to first and woke the neighborhood and got him out in two seconds flat, and sent him on his way with a "drive safely" remark.

Now he left the neighborhood out the only entrence and it slowly donned on me that his car had been facing the other direction. So I assume that he hit the corner, that I could probably do in my jeep going at least 45 but have never done it, and lost traction and did a 180 into the ditch. I can only imagine how fast he was going. Good for him that a house was being constructed there and there were no cars there.

So now, because of ricers who like to show off, I never park my jeep on the side of the road anymore.

Update:
Talked to the shop, it appears that as I thought, the exterior damage was minimal. They are going to replace my tire/wheel, fix the sheet metal and replace the Bushwhacker fender...and the axle housing is bent, so they are going to replace the entire assembly.

Turns out the guy doing the work is a fellow Jeeper, he has a 99 with some nice mods, we talked a bit, I feel good about him doing the work, always a plus.

I should have her back in a couple of weeks, now I just gotta go pick up my rental car today...ugh...rentals...

I never liked parking the Jeep on the street, but my 2 car garage only has room to house my tools and my Formula, the driveway is only a 2 car driveway which usually has my Ram and the wife's Highlander...so I don't have a choice but to park it on the street...maybe I should banish her new Highlander to curb side parking now...<evil grin>

rofl rofl

I imagine without a roof the person wouldn't be driving off anywhere to soon. No hit and runs like that.
