Hello,
My first time here,
my first jeep,
my first random hose...

So, i bought a 1993 Grand Cherokee Lorado, with 4.0L and select trac. I am loving it...

It has some few small leaks and minor age problems, no worries its a small price to pay to go offroading (maybe i'll snap a pick of the car in a sec and the hose)...
anyways, i got this hose thats now hanging from the front drivetrain over the front steering crap... its a soft rubber hose that seems like it would be a vacuum hose but I cant find where it goes, and i looked all over (where i could see above and underneath).

The 4 wheel drive still works and i took it offroading with the hose displaced like it is, i know not smart but the car runs just fine. Where does this magic hose go? any help appreciated, picks coming.

I'd climb under and track it back to wherever it comes from. You sure it's not the vent tube for the front axle?

posted a pick,
I am pretty sure its coming from the the top rear side of the front drivetrain at least thats where i felt it to.

a vent tube would be?

and if it were, where would it need to go?

Looks like the vent tube - not sure where it's supposed to be on yours, but the upper end on mine is up on the driver's side of the radiator.

vent tube.just bring it back up into the engine bay and zip tie it to something up high.mkae sure to leave slack in it so while flexing it won't pull down again.if it isn't long enough to get back intot he engine bay run down to the parts store and pick up some 3/8 rubber fuel line and attach a new one to the front axle

That tube is to allow the grease in the diff to heat up and expand without stressing the seals.. It needs to be put up as high as possible so that if you drive thru deep water you wont suck it into your diff..

Hey B,

My hose is located on the side of the air cleaner box. There are 3 notches it goes into. The hose forms an upside down loop on the side of the box.
I had the same problem with hose hanging down.
