I have 20,000 miles on my 03' Rubicon and I have gone through both rear axle seals already? Anyone have experience with this? I drained the diff at 6k and 12 k?? so......??? Luckely it's still under warranty but...still?
One of the axles actually had to be replaced because there was pitting on it already where the seal sits.... so the mechanic thought it would just leak again with a new seal!
What would cause this? Confused

This is pretty much a common issue with the Rubicons. I don't recall it being as frequent in other TJs with 44s from the factory.

Seals going out?
One thing that causes this is mudding! When mud gets in the seals it is the same as sand paper stuck in the seals!!!!!
this is the same for your brakes too!
this is the same for your tie rod ends, ball joints & U-joints!......pumping extra grease through them will help flush the grit out of them

HeHe have fun thinking about this damage next time you go offroad! rofl Shocked
