My mom has a 2002 Jeep Wrangler with a stock radio/cd player. I burned her a CD and she said that it's not playing. The format that I burned it was mp3. I was wondering what format they read so that I can convert it. Please help.

Best Regards and SEMPER FI

Not a wrangler expert but I haven't heard to much about mp3 playing cd players coming in cars stock. I would say just make a regular cd and make sure it works. If it does, then its not an mp3 cd player

Stock CD players don't read MP3..too small of a file. Depending on which software you use some will ask if its going to be played in a computer or on a CD player. Make sure you have it on CD player or music cd, not data or MP3..
Hope it helps.

Some automobile CD Players just will NOT play a CD burned on CDR.
(My 99 Explorer will my wife's 98 Honda will not.)
(My 92 XJ is lucky if FM Radio and 1 or 2 speakers work!)

Very few Car Stereos will play a MP3 File unless specifically advertised to do so.

Right - no mp3 for stock mopar radios - i'm looking to upgrade mine right now so that i have the MP3 option... that way i just have to keep a few cd's in the car and have 1000's of songs available.
