(newbie to this site/forum)
I'm getting pretty anxious for an update from DCX on the Gladiator pickup. Auto show concept vehicle had me drooling. I gotta believe it's either being scrapped or about to roll into showrooms. PLEASE DCX: keep some of those Jeep touches...love the canvas roof and fold-down windshield. Definitely like the hose-out interior and front winch. I'm not crazy about the side-mount spare, but would like to suggest tow hooks, grill guard (option) and how about a dual battery hook-up? Maybe a canvas bed cover that could connect to (or pull out from) the cabin top (tent?). Just a thought. Curious what others might suggest. Hey - no harm in askin, right? Somebody in Auburn Hills might be logged-in. thumbs

I heard from my jeep dealership that it wasexpected in 07, then my last trip there, it was a different story, it might not be produced and stay as a concept vehicle.

The Gladiator looks like it was the working platform for the new JK Wrangler. With the JK's expected release in the fall and a 4door extended version shortly after, I wouldn't expect to see a pickup version any time soon. Remember the old Dakar concept that was pretty cool but never made it to the showroom despite overwhelming public approval, sometimes these things are just used to gauge reactions before the real product is released(which is funny because everyone seemed to do cartwheels over the Gladiator's design, but seem to be 'meh' over the JK). Normally I'd say that DC wouldn't compete with itself by releasing another pickup, but with all the crossbranding that they've become so fond of, who knows.

I'm with 'drack...the reason DC dropped the MJ (Comanche) when they bought Jeep was because Dodge already made pickup trucks. I don't expect them to bring one back to Jeep anytime soon.
