I have a 96 JGC Laredo and that I bought used. The pricing sticker says I have keyless entry but I didn't get any remotes. I bought two off of eBay that looked like this:

But now I am thinking I may have got the wrong ones. Does anyone know if 96's remotes looked more like this?

I also ready that I have to have a dealer use a DRB thing to program it. My friend has one so if these are the right ones I would like to avoid paying the dealership to do it. Does anyone know how to program with the DRB?

Found a place that would program it. I got 2 remotes programed for $15.99. It was a small dealership. I called the bigger ones and they wanted $85 average. Thanks for the help.

I have had two 98 ZJ 5.9 Limiteds. My first one had a remote like your top picture. I was in a wreck and my first Jeep was totalled. I found another one almost identical at a dealership in Texas. When I spoke to the salesman on the phone I told him to make sure that he had the Keyless entry remote before he shipped it to me (because you can't quickly turn off the damned alarm if you don't have the remote). He told me he didn't have the remotes but he would get them from a nearby Jeep dealership. When I recieved the Jeep it had brand new 3 button remotes. They aren't like your second picture. They are longer and have a much more rounded ergonomic shape than my previous remote. I assume that when he got them he only had to get new remotes and didn't have to have to get anything else done for them to work (like getting a new signal reciever installed). My new remote is Daimler Chrysler part number 05014736. My old remote like the one you have pictured is only listed as a Chrysler product and has the part number 56008761. If the remote you purchased doesn't work try those part numbers and get it programmed for your Jeep.
