Hi to all.....Just bought a 92XJ and one of the things that I need to fix is the windshield wiper on the passenger side. When you run them with water on the windshield the right blade will go down over the moulding and then stop the motor. The only way to get it work again is to give it a good yank.
Soooooooo I pulled the wiper motor/linkage out and really saw not much wrong, BUT the right side will go over center so I did find the reason for the stopping.
This is a very goofy setup and I'm wondering if there is a better way to repair this than just buying a new one from the dealer? I'm not opposed to buying it if it will fix this even though it does cost $150.
I'm thinking that it will occur again even With the new one after a couple years..........Or am I wrong?????????
Thanks----Rick shock

I never had any issues with the linkage. Are you sure the wiper arms are on the pins coming out of the hood properly? What I mean is, with the wipers turned off the blades should be near the bottom of the windshield and parallel to it. If they are already up a little then they will travel to far.

I had that problem with my old 92 XJ.
The links were "loose", so i drilled up the holes on the arms just enough to press in some small ball bearings. And then, with some matching bolts and nuts on the other side of the joints, i got a tight, smooth-running wiper-mechanism.
Not too good an explanation but hey, im Norwegian Wink
