I read the sticky that said
30x10.50", 30x11.50",30x12.50"
2" lift - wider the tire trimming maybe needed

I plan to do a 2 in coil spacer and shackle lift. This jeep is my daily driver so nothing crazy. But what rim / back spacing would I need to stick the bigest without triming guessing the 30x10.5 or 11.50... Someone also told me that with a 2 in lift a 31 tire should fit but you guys say no...

Thanks
Vic

That sticky is a general guideline and not the "be all end all". It really depends on how well the current suspension is holding up. In other words, if your stock suspension has sagged by say 0.5" over time, all you're going to get from a 2" budget boost is 1.5" over stock. Not only that but most coil spacers are actually 1 7/8" and not a true 2". Shackles tend to be between 1.5" and 1.75".

Factor all that together and fitting a 31" tire on an older Jeep with a 2" budget boost doesn't always work.

To answer your question, right around 4.5" should work for what you are trying to do. If you go with a 12.5" wide tire, they may rub the control arms at full steering lock though.

What would be the cheapest way I can gain the clearence to run a 31 in tire? How much lift dose v8 springs in the front give? If i ran v8 spring sint he front with the daystar kit and lift blocks in the back to make up the difference would that work and be streetable? I heard that over 3 inches and you need to replace the shocks is that true? Whats your feelings on add a leafs? My leafs arnt to old a year or two..

Thanks
Vic

What do you guys think of this? Will I need shocks or anything else to complete it? Looks like it will be cheap and give me the ability to keep the jeep road worthy but still enjoy the occasional offroad trip.

Thanks
Vic
