I'd like to see someone with a hummer put as much work into them as those jeeps

yeah, a nice Jeep would beat a hummer majority of the time, but can't really compare...HMMWV's aren't just made for wheeling. If someone really invested in a much better suspension they would be a lot better, but they're still HUGE. Solid Axle swap?

only if you could keep those portals.

which gets me thinking has anyone taken the portals off of an H1 and tried to fit them to sold axles?

doing solid axles with portals would be tough I imagine, IS has a nice spindle for the portal housing to mount to, but the end of a solid axle would need like a frame/support thing on the end to securly mount the portal...but that would be awesome, there;s got to be a solid axle with portals somehwere, Pinzgauers? unimogs or old mercdes? are those all IS?
