This may be a dumb question to some of you, but I don't know, so I am asking. I am going to install some bar pin eliminators and was wondering some things. Do replacement shocks for cherokees come with the bar pins installed? If so, can they be removed? Can the factory ones be removed? If the bar pins can not be removed, how do I go about deciding on what shocks to order that do not have them so I can mount them on the eliminators? This kind of shock mounting is new to me and I want to be sure I know how to get the correct and i have no clue about any of this. Thanks for any advice.

most shocks will come with them but you have to install them to the end of the shock.if you have them already you can press them out.

If you order them in a lift kit make sure you specify all your info about the jeep and they should come correctly. If you order them seperately make sure whoever you order from has XJ specific shocks with the bar pins. Most do. Why you would want to remove them I duuno but yes they can be removed. If you are thinking about changing your shock mounts then I have seen regular shocks on XJ's with the eye bushings on each end like 90% of the shocks out there. Rusty's and I'm sure some other companies sell those bar pin eliminators..I think and they allow you to use standard shocks as well as add up to an inch of lift. As far as if you go that route, just make sure you give the exact details to the shop you purchase from and they should match you up ok. On the standard shock, they will go by either lifted or non and maybe 2wd and 4wd. There are alot to choose from on ebay as far as shocks go. Good luck, hope this helps.
