Hi all, we have 98 GC 4.0l petrol/LPG. We had fully working ac last summer bu now the summer has returned all be it briefly the AC is not cold.

Under the bonnet, the pipe going between the condensor/radiator and the cab is well frosted up and very very cold.

Once in the cab its just a very slight chill. The return pipe is warm.

We have installed a new radiator over the winter, could I have knocked anything out or caused the problem?

cheers

Is the fan working??? Is the air blowing out the vents??

If the line is frosting alot you could actually be low on freon or have a blockage in the line and the line could be freezing not allowing the freon thru..

Also. The return line should be warm...

Anyone else have anything to add?

Maybe the blend door? Did the condensor get disconnected when you replaced the radiator?

Gentlemen, a lot of answers to your questions are in the reply to subject 'FSM' lower down in subject column. Again return line should be cold and sweaty to compressor. Sometimes the seals, O rings, get dry with age or a line loosens and charge looses a small amount or through deteration of a part. A small amount of freon may be all it needs to bring up the coil temp to above freezing unless the fan isn't blowing then that could be the problem, Please let us know if fan is blowing ...........Thanks...Tony

Hi all, been a while but found the forum again. Thanks for the replys.

Yes the fan is as it should be the return line is warm. No I didnt disconnect the condensor but now I'm thinking i knocked something when i swapped the rad. but its been months and its operation hasnt got any better or worse. I suppose I'll have it charged as low gas has been mentioned alot.

cheers
Col.
