having too much trouble with my jeep. just got radiator replaced because it was cracked. when replaced the fluid was a yellowish brown color. now (two weeks later) the check engine light came on and I looked in the resevoir and there is brown sludge in it. HELP!!!! NEED ANSWER NOW!!

Check your oil & filler cap for white stuff!! If this is so, it sounds like your engine got tooooo hot and cracked the head or blown head gasket, just enough that the oil and coolant are mixing.

X2 and did you reverse flush the cooling system to get the scale and such out of the engine when you replaced the radiator?

X 3. This can happen with any rig...not just a Jeep. If the cooling system isn't flushed periodically you can count on such events. And indeed, if the oil is milky, you've probably blown a head gasket. And yes, you can crack the block or head. But both are cast iron, and usually (but not always) okay.

thanks for the advice. found out what it was, last mechanic put stop leak in (when it was leaking) and that's what ended up in the resevoir. had it flushed and looks fine now
