Hi folks! I'm new to this forum and looking for some help, perhaps you can help me out with some ideas. I've got an '85 CJ7 and when I moved the vehicle from one side of the driveway to the other side I had no problem starting and moving the jeep. Later, when I went to start and move the jeep back to where it was, it wouldn't start. It'll crank but won't turn over and run.

I keep blowing the 5amp fuse in the "Ign Lps" slot of the fuse box under the dash. I replaced the ignition switch and then the module thinking they may have been bad internally but still no fix. Any ideas? Thx.

i would try to replace your wiring harness it sounds to me like its .. on a start to going bad. the wiring harness's on cj's are bassically all the same you can bassically throw in one from a ford without doing any harm. the harness's do tend to burn a hole in your pocket so if money is an issue i would strip one from a junkyard.

Thanks for the tip. One thing I later found out is that there should be a 15amp fuse in place of the 5 amp. Another thing I later realized is that the fuel guage stopped working. Don't know if there is a connection between the two but I think I'll drop the steering column and dash and check the wiring inside the dash for problem areas.
