JeepinNH,Hi. I had a 2" lift kit installed on the Jeep, last week, which consisted of new rear springs, shocks, and front coils and shocks, with Cragar steel rims imported from the USA Cool and 31"Maxxis tires.
On driving it for the first time after that,I found that my vibration problem was aboutnow 5 times as worse!!. On contacting the guys who did the lift job, they said that it was a common thing,'cos of the new angle of the drive shaft, for which they had a 'after lift' spacer kit, available,to insert in between the gearbox and its support cross member, and the back gearbox protection'skid' plate crosspiece,as well, this bringing the uni angle back to around where it was, prior to the lift. The mechanic just had to drop the crossmember down, and remove the studs each side, and rebolt the member back up,afer inserting the metal spacer bars, and using the new longer bolts. So ,as I say,the new springs at the rear, especially, seem to have done the trick, and gotten rid of my 'shakes' Cool the jeeps old rear springs were real sad lookin',the guy who did the lift, told me,flattened out, they were,so I'm assuming these were contributing to the vibes, beforehand, very much so,and with the new springs, the vibes have now gone, 95%!! The new springs as they should be,have a nice working curve in them, the truck sits up like new.hope this makes sense to you..cheers...Jim
