I just istalled a new sony cdx gt100 unit in my 2002 wrangler x model. I used the sony supplied wiring harness. I hooked everything up in 10 minutes. I turned the radio on and the sound quality was great for stock speaker. When I tried the cd there was no bass coming from the cd player same thing from the aux connection to my ipod. has anyone run into something similar to this.[/b]

Did you adjust the settings for each of the sources? Most aftermarket head units that have multiple input/output sources, you need to adjust the settings/levels for each.

yeah I went through all the settings and even tied reseting the radio just to make sure the programing was at factory setting. It's funny I get great sound out of the tuner but all i hear is tweeter and midranger when I switch to CD or AUX

Sounds like the head unit itself is bad, there's no way you connected it wrong if your getting good sound from one source, but not the others.

Take it back Smile

Do you have the 7-speaker sound system or an aftermarket amp and sub? I question if you used the antenna turn-on lead to control whether the amp is on or off. Some head units don't supply power to the antenna turn-on lead unless the radio is selected as the source. Given the description you made, I'd check into this possible solution.

There are sometimes two blue wires...one for the antenna lead and the other for the amp turn-on lead. Check the wires for the right one and switch them.
