I have a question about towing my Harley in a small enclosed trailer. Since the CRD has a max torque at 1800 rpm and the tranny has a lock-up torque converter, do I still need to take it out of overdrive?

Need some more info (though it may just be me). Engine size, power output, torque output will help. Also, the towing package you have and the aproximate fully loaded trailer weight will help.

Personally I've never had a problem with towing (just about) anything with my XJ. I have the standard straight 6 4.0L and I have towed a pop-top trailer which is about 2,200 lbs. and about 318 tounge weight. The straight 6 gives about 190 hp and about 220 torque, so if yours is similar, you shouldn't have a problem with a small covered trailer with your bike in it (weight pending).

Sorry, never answered your question... I don't know about taking it out of overdrive, it depends on where you're going with it. Also, I can't take mine out of overdrive (at least not that I know of) so you're on your own for that one.
