When I play CDs in my Jeep Wrangler 03, the tracks skip and sound corrupt at times... Often it's in the same location in the songs and other times it's random, then at other times it works fine. Has anyone else had this type of issue before with the Stock Jeep CD player?

I'm trying to determine if it's my Jeep CD player or the CDs I've burnt.
Any thoughts?
Thanks Hatchet Face

Not gonna say anything about your cd player, but does it happen with all of your cd's or only with the ones that are burnt? I have a lot of problems with burnt cd's. I've even had burnt cd's that wouldn't play the first song altogether (on any cd player, even aftermarket).

Sometimes it's just the cd's, not the cd player.

Yea... I've tried store bought CDs and on some occassions they may slightly skip or sputter a bit... not as much as the burnt CDs, but it has happended some.

I also have played the burnt CDs that have skipped on my home stereo without any issues.

I suppect that it may bit a problem with both the burnt CDs and the Stock Stereo in my Jeep.

The Jeep stereos have been known to be picky about playing burned CDs without skipping. Try different brands of media and slow down the burn speed. Use a 4X-8X burn speed.

My 02' doesn't like CD's at all, It accepts them fine, but it takes about a min to a half hour to play the CD, burnt or regular, once it starts to play it plays fine.
I've put a CD in and forgot about it and ten min later it decides to play an scares the crap out of me.

What I use mostly is my ipod with a FM transmitter, Doesn’t skip and I have my whole CD catalog plus downloads on it.
I put the ipod (with belt clip) in the transfer case shift slot by the cup holder and it stays even when off roading, plus it’s within reach while your driving, the only bad thing is, you can't read it.
