Hello im trying to fix my girlfriends 96 Grand Cherokee with a 4.0 The truck will run and drive but sometimes when you come to a stop the truck begins to stumble ill give it gas but it just dies, with a bit of cranking ill start up. Sometimes it stumbles and dies and sometimes it will just dies out. The truck had a tune up about a mth ago, the wires, plugs, cap, 02 sensor, and fuel filter were changed. We checked the fuelpump pressure and its around 40lbs, the mechanic said it lost pressure when it shut off. So we put a new pump, same problem. Now the check engine light turned on and showed a bad coil and maf sensor, we put a new coil it didnt fix it, we switched out a maf from a dodge ram and the problem continues. We erased the check engine light after switching the coil and it has not returned. Any ideas? Thanks

Check battery to see if it,s ok. May be good enough to start with but to weak to maintain eng. functions at stops. Also check voltage regulator output. Clean posts on battery also. Just a couple idea,s.

We already fixed it, it turns out the connecter that plugs into the computer was loose. We would move around the connecter and the the truck would shut off. So we cleaned it up a bit pluged it back in and put some zip ties in and it hasnt shut off since. Thanks anyways for the help
