Most blowby problem start around 100,000 miles. First check the CCV
tubes both front and rear. Replace any hoses or cracked tubes. Make sure the rear one has good vacuum draw from the intake. If you need to purchase a new one. Dont let the Jeep dealer sell you the stock one. There is a TSB for larger diameter tube and grommet. Clean the intake fitting for the rear tube. I on occasion spray throttle body cleaner thru the tubes. The second is to replace the valve cover with a 1991 or earler.
Jeep new this was a problem back in 1987 but did little to fix it.
The old valve cover needs to have the Tubes that are inside the Valve cover drilled. This will help to slow down the blowby. My 1988 started blowby in 1993 at about 115,000 and with a little care and persuasion
the engine lasted until 2004 with 225,000 miles. The result of blowby
was the compression rings.
