ok guys, i am finally getting my lift for my xj after like 2 years of dreaming about it. i decided to go with the Rubicon Express 4.5 Super Flex kit, which according to RE can easily be upgraded later. The procomp 1079 wheels in 15x8 with black beadlock rings, and procomp 32 all terrains. I think that this set up will work ok for me and look damn good on my 96 black XJ. i will be installing it within the next week and i will have photos up.

thanks for all the help figuring out what to buy..

i just fitted that kit about 4 weeks ago and am really happy with the performance.

So far i have been lucky, my 98 XJ took the lift without needing to do a SYE yet. Just the transfer drop & axle shims did the trick. I have a little vibration from 20-30 mph but otherwise its all smooth.

I added daystar 3/4" spring spacers up front to level it out.

I am running 32 super swampers and i neded to do some fender trimming up front...... i suspect you will too. At the moment im running flareless up front.

just thought id let you know you will happy with your purchase & surprised at how capable your jeep has become.

I am interested in this kit as well. I am going to stick with the 31" ATs I have on my 4 door 97. Will I need to do any trimming?

I have the 31" ATs on now with no lift(and have had for the last year), just the upcountry package and only rub in tight turns, but I dont take it offroad yet.

I helped jppilot install a 4.5" superflex on his XJ last fall. I'm sure he'll chime in at some point, but on his an SYE was necessary. You should be fine with 31's, but a lot will depend on the rim backspacing you go with.
