Does the odometer rack up miles if you flat tow with t-case in nuetral? Never done it so I don't know.
Found XJ for sale used behind motorhome, wondering if it will be a good deal.
Have to go look to see how bad the stone chips are.

Don't quote me, but I believe it will...at least on older XJ's The odometer takes it's reading off the output shaft on the t-case, so unless the driveshaft is dropped, the odometer will still clock on miles.

Now the newer (OBDII) XJ's have a digital odometer. I'm not sure if they register miles with the ignition off.

Thats kind of what I was thinking, if the speedo gear is in the output shaft it would spin regardless. What you say about the electronic makes sense, too.



When was the switch to the obdII? was that 96?

This ones a '97

I think the switch to OBDII was in 96...but the 97 is definatley OBDII.
