Should I get a throttle body spacer for my 96 jeep cherokee? some ppl i've talked to say that it only helps out on your high end & i was looking for something to help my low end.

I've heard that spacers don't really do anything for non-carbureted engines. But I read in 4wheel & Offroad that they can actually help you gain a few (less than 10) horsepower. They won't hurt your low end but they won't really help it either- and it's doubtful that the top-end effect won't be noticeable anyway. I know that in some applications, the ZJ for one, that they cause hood clearance problems. I don't know if that's the case in the cherokee though.

Don't bother with a TBS then.

I bored out my TB with an abrasive flapwheel, improved performance all over the rev range and cost nothing to do.

I hear throttle body spacers don't do anything for horsepower, they just atomize the fuel mixture better...which actually doesn't make sense bc the newer 4.0's use MPI and a dry manifold...so...i dunno.
