I have a weird idle situation o my V8..At idle it is 9.5 out of a 10 as far as being smooth..Problem is if your stopping or leaving a redlight right off idle but not really in the gas.. just off the brake,it seems to surge or skip until you get in the gas...I have cleaned the throttle body & IAC...Other than that it runs great.....Any ideas or thoughts??????????????????

Have you tried changing the TPS (throttle position sensor)

Did you use Throttle body cleaner to clean it ??

It is a choice between the TPS and the IAC...Yes I used the throttle body cleaner...I have a friend that is going to give me a Chrysler Intake treatment system that will go half in the tank and the other half thru the intake...Which sensor has the most effect on idle,in gear, easing off the brake w/o touching the gas...???????????????????????????

my remedy after 5 weeks was to replace the IAC with a Mopar IAC. This did it for my 97' Jeep GC 4.0.

I replaced my IAC becuase when I would let off the gas the idle would drop down, and if I was going slow enough, stall. Then sometimes if I started it up after not letting it sit a while the rpms would drop and stall or they would jump up and down for a while untill they evened out at about 800ish.

Anyway that is a discription of my problem and a new IAC from autozone fixed it right up.
