Junkyard 4x4 Axle: $500
Junkyard Transfer Case and Driveshaft: $200
Hardware and Linkages: $100
Junkyard Transmission and Tailcone Assembly: $400
Shorter Rear Driveshaft: $75

These are the prices I was quoted a couple months ago for mine...keep in mind these are approximate. Tack on another $1500 if you plan on having it professionally installed. Oh and you'll need the transmission because the output shaft on a 2WD is different.

if you search you can find deals. I had to wait for a few weeks but found a aw4/231 for $100, then about a week later found a complete 91 xj with a 4.0 H.O./aw-4/242/HP non-disco dana 30 for $240. I also found a 1st gen AWshift kit for $75, guy bought it but never installed. I should have all the parts and it "should" be a straight forward swap. keep in mind I only paid $300 for my 89 2door 2wd.
Good luck, Jeremy
