Just found a protector that protects the radiator from bugs and rocks. Found it on 4wd.com made by Midwest Equipment Specialties for only 35.00 has anyone tried one.

any of those screens or other type of protectors also block a bit of air flow. Not a problem in the fall / winter but could cause an issue in the summer

I just searched their website but didn't see anything like you describe. I'm interested though--can you post a link?

I had one just long enough years ago to screw up the paint from where it rubbed. I only had it on for a couple of months during the winter, so I don't know what effect it would've had during the summer, but from the looks of it, it would've caused problems which is why I removed it.

I had one on my CJ-7. I didn't like it. My CJ would run hotter with it on in the summer. It's not worth the time or money.
