OK.. i was changing my wheel bearing (for nothing cuz the f'n thing was the wrong one) and when i was putting my brake calliper on i stripped the bottom bolt that holds the calliper on to the axle Evil or Very Mad ... oh damn.. i thought it was the bolt cus the bolt looked a little dinged up so i got new bolts and it just spins freely... SO THEN i took the inch or so metal tube spacer out and tightened the bolt further almost touching my brake pad Neutral .. i really didnt think this was a good hold cuz i could turn the bolt with my fingers so i figured i would tighten the top a lil more to make sure it doesnt go anywhere when i 4x4... WORST CHOICE EVER!!! now the top is stripped as well pissed and as of right now there isnt a bot in the top and instead is a pipe cleaner all twisted up. Crying or Very sad .. this sucks so damn bad i hope to god some one has an idea for me to try... any idea at all is totally appreciated

that is what i was thinking either that or rig a bigger bolt some how... Does anyone know the exact name of the part i would need.. the knuckle as you say doesnt register at any parts store. a junk yard may have one but i need to tell them what part it is... i dont need to get a new axle right? this part that the caliper bolts onto comes off right?

You can try to take it off and retapp it for bigger threads .. That would entail buying a tap set at Home Depot or something..

Or once you have it off you can bring it to a bone yard and get a replacement..

Redrilling for a bigger bolt won't work since the bolt needs to fit inside the metal sleeves.

Another knuckle is an option.

A better option is a heli-coil. Google it.

You could use a bigger bolt if you went to lowes and got bigger tubes.

Or you could use JB Weld to put them on and a hacksaw to get them off next time.... rofl rofl rofl

I'd say try a junkyard. You can get the art number from the old one, or just take th eold one in and they will match it. If I remember correctly, a used one from a junkyard shouldn't cost much more than $50 i would expect. I think the new ones are only about a $100.

The yard should know. if you are the one to go and get it from the junk vehicle it's very obvious what you need to grab. Depending on the yard, they'll get it for you, or they may make you get it.

btw, It's either called just a knuckle or a steering knuckle.
