Just wondering, I read in the manual for my 98 TJ that you shouldn't use 4WD on flat ground. It just snowed where I live, and some roads are worse than others, and some have been plowed and are fine. Is it bad to keep it in 4WD when the road is fine, or should I put it in 2WD on clean roads...
thanks in advance.

You should put it in 2hi on dry pavement so it doesn't bind up on you.

Yeah when I swapped my 249 for a 231, I put it in 4hi on wet road and it binded up, learned not to do it on pavement on less you have like a 242 or a 249

leave it for the trail Razz

I've used 4hi twice in the snow. Both times were to get over a mound from a plow. You shouldn't need to use it on pavement snow or no snow. If you're sliding around that much you need better tires.
