So Jen(2Goofy) wanted a puppy and she finally talked me into getting one as part of my Christmas gift to her. So she looked around and this past Friday, she drove down to South Carolina and picked one up. Meet Curly. He’s a three month old Cocker Spaniel and currently weighs in at around 7 lbs.

The cat (Bob) is not sure what to make of him. This pic is a perfect example of their current relationship. I'm sure Bob will warm up to him in a few days.

The dog (Tyr) immediatley took a liking to him however:

…and vice versa. Once Tyr lays down, Curly will lay right next to her. Tyr was laying down here and Curly just came over and plopped himself down:

Then they both got comfortable…

He's also learned pretty quickly that the couch is the happening place to be. He can’t quite get up on his own yet though.

Laying next to Tyr:

More next to Tyr:

At times, it also seems that Tyr is trying to mother him. But Curly doesn’t seem to mind...

He’s also taken a liking to my lap…where he really likes laying on his back.

He likes his toys too…

Like most puppies, he plays in short spurts and does a lot of this:

He really does dig sleeping on his back when he’s on your lap:

Anyway, we are working on housebreaking him now (hence the bell on his collar...let's us know where he is so we can keep him in our sights during the process), then we’ll start with the actual training, which will be just the basics: down, off, sit, come, etc. He socializes really well with other animals, but is just a little skittish around new people...after a few minutes, he warms up to new people pretty quick though. Regardless, we think he’s a good mod to our little herd. Mr. Green

Cocker Spaniels are great dogs. My family has had one for about 13 years. They are very smart and well mannerd. Just in case you don't know (but I'm sure you do) our cocker is famous for ear infections, so much to the point that when she was about 11 we had to have her ear canals taken out. Sad but the vet says that she should still be able to hear, especially bass tones. And although she dosen't come when I call her now she sure knows when someone opens the refrigerator door!

good mod
