my 98 Tj sits outside 99% of the time. With winter here, I'm thinking about one of the block heaters that goes inline with a radiator hose. Anybody done this? Does it help with starting and faster heat output? Any suggestions on brands or features? It has the 4 cylinder in it. Thanks.

the only real draw back to them is added maintance, if you happen to put tap water into you cooling system the heating element will develop mineral deposits on it and you will have to take it out at the end of the winter and clean it off.

Also it a hassle to always turn off the car and plug it in.. Long ago I had a Toyota that had a little diesel and in the winter I had to plug it in or it would never stat. Id always put it on a timer to have it turn on about an hour before I had to leave for work. Saved me from having to keep it warm all night.
