I have a 99 Cherokee 4L and I am replacing the radiator. This is something I haven't done before. I have looked online to find some instructions but so have haven't had any luck. Any tips? Thanks.

It's really easy...the upper neck on mine disintegrated a couple months ago and it spewed coolant everywhere. Cost $100 for the radiator and a couple hours to replace.

I've replaced the rad on my 91 XJ. It's not that bad. Just make sure you have the correct hoses and stuff before you rip the old one out. My lower hose was for a different Jeep and had to take it back 1/2 way through.

Those so called "qucick connect" fittings on the transmission cooler lines can be a pain. Helps to get as many hoses and parts out of the way before trying to seperate them.

Flushing the crud out of the engine took awhile after the new rad was in place. We wrapped the end of a garden hose in tape and jammed it into the filler neck. This provided a way a constantly dribbling fresh water while the old rusty crap flowed out of the petcock. The scale break up stuff we used was powdered and you add it to the rad.
Takes awhile for things to warm up to the point the thermostst opens and flushes the dirt out of the block. Mine flushed for an hour before it ran clear. Drained the clean water and filled her up with the right antifreeze mix.
