Im getting new tires and wheels on my 91 wrangler, looking at some Cragar 397s, 15x8, 4 inch backspacing, what sixe tires will fit on that, im looking at 31s, and wasnt sure what sze would work with those rims.

also, i was talking to my friend about gettin a spring over axle lift, will someone explain to me how this works, it seems to me that the spring if over the axle would bow down and hit the axle when goin over a bump, also, does this sound like a good idea with no other lift, and just 31s on my jeep?

Thanks a lot

Srping over is something like 4.5" to 5.5" of lift (havent had a YJ for 4 years so i cant remember). If you do that you will keep the ride quality, but i dont like this set up. That is way too much lift for 31's. If you just want 31's i would go with a shackle front and back if you arent doing too much wheelin. Otherwise a small lift will do the trick. I was running 32's on a 1" shackle lift front and back on my YJ. The only rubbing was when i turned it got the front leafs a little. There wasnt much flex, but all I did was sling some mud in pastures when i had the YJ. What wheels do you have? The reason this set up worked for me is because i had the 15x6.5 stock steelies. If yours are wider then you might need more lift or some fender trimming.

Heres a pic
