Does anybody know why my serpentine belt would be making a squeeling noise. after it started doing it i replaced the belt and that didnt work so then i tried some belt dressing and no luck. it seems to only do it when its wet out but it has happened while its dry out.

well now that i wrote this maybe its not even the belt maybe i just need some WD-40 on the idler pully. or any pully for that matter.

any ideas would be apprieciated

If you search the forums here... you will likely find other discussions of this problem. I am 99% sure that you just need to tighten it more. I tightened mine a little each day until no more squeeling.

Could be the idler pully bearing. They are easy to replace. There about $30 for the whole pully but you can get the bearing and just use a vice.
The bearing itself is about $4 at the auto parts store.
