Hey, i have an 89 cherokee w/an automatic trans, its a parts jeep and i have somebody interested in buying some parts off it, so before i go ahead and sell them i was wondering if anybody knew how much they were worth...its the front axle...i believe the whole thing basically, including the front diff, etc...also the transmission...i have no clue if the trans is junk or not because i have not driven the parts jeep, soo does anybody know how much this stuff is worth???

What axle? D30 front, D35 rear? 8.25 rear? D44 rear? Their value is dependent upon what axle.

Also, with the lack of info you've got on the parts and now knowing if they even function normally, your parts aren't worth much. Basically, take what the guy will offer.

They're only worth what someone wants to pay. Take offers. You could also search for sale forums to see what others are selling their's for. Given it's age and most likely condition, you're lucky to get $100 out of the front axle. They are a dime a dozen in salvage yard. I pulled one for $40 minus calipers and rotors.

Since it should be a HP (high pinion) D30 it is worth more. I got $250 for mine. If it has the vacuum disconnect then it is not worth more than $100. Good upgrade for someone with the LP D30.
I guess it also depends on where you live.
If Rear D35 probably $40 -$50 if your lucky. If it is this then it is more than likely a non C-Clip since it is an 89. I held onto mine until someone broke a shaft in our club and sold the whole thing to him for $50
8.25 Rear 27 spline $75, 29 spline $100
D44 rear $300 to $400. If you’re lucky you have this.
This is just an estimate on what I would pay or sell them for but like ehirner said, only worth as much as someone is willing to pay. If your unsure if the axle is good I would take the diff cover off and at least look at the gears. Who knows, you may find a locker in one. (Or just jack it up and spin the tires).

The one I pulled for $40 is a high pinion non-vacuum disconnect axle.

Just found the receipt too...$40.50 plus a $5 core.

Man, great deal, If it was not so heavy I would have you ship some down here. I wish I could find them here for that.

Go to a local u-pull-it type salvage yard. I'm sure you've got them near you. A little work to pull it on your part saves a lot of money.
