I have heard that the Fireball ignition system that comes with cap rotor wies and coil for under 200 bucks is dang good (im pretty sure thats what its called {Fireball Ignition System}) . It has been featured in JP Mag (BTW awesome magazine) and I have heard rants and raves about it. Thoughts and comments on it are greatly appreciated, did it improve gas mileage, performance?????

i agree with jp magazine being great i have never herd of the fire ball system , but i couldn't see it giving any real noticeable power gains or fuel improvements . maybe 1-2 hp or 1 mpg , and thats pushing it , 4.0L's just don't seem to respond to such things . however if you have a old ignition system then it can't hurt to upgrade .

I've read a bit about it and asked some people who have it on another board and have kinda gotten the feeling you can do the same thing for less by piecing them together. Personally I run Autolite professional wires, Accell cap and button, and use the stock coil and things seem to work well for me. Best thing I can say is just ask around and see if anyone can offer up some data to share and see if it's what you wanna do. try www.naxja.org and search for it, that forum is an absolute wealth of knowledge.

cap = simple , rotor slightly more difficult i would recommend picking up a haynes manual , you wont regret it . i know i have two for xjs and mitchel on demand , and i will even admit im a first year heavy duty mechanic . i don't know it all so check out the manual it has step by step procedures . but its really not that hard

cap will take you like 1 minute , pop it off mark the wires put the new one on rotor is similar . nothing will fly out and attack you , check for any type of retainers , i haven't taken apart my distributor on my jeep so im unfamiliar with it . maybe ill scoot out side and check it out .

this is why im a diesel mechanic no dahm distributors . i guess most new vehicles don't have em anyway.

there really not complicated .
