I have an 02 TJ and I was out in the snow today. I was in 4 HI and it kept intermittently jumping out of 4wd and making a loud grinding noise. I would slam it back in to 2 HI and back up to 4 Hi and it would be good for a little while. I have hit some pretty gnarly trails with it, so , has my luck run out??? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Mr. Green

See the bolt in the middle of this picture...find it on your t-case shift linkage, loosen it, and adjust the length of the linkage a bit. I'd be willing to bet it's just not adjusted correctly in order to get the t-case fully engaged in 4hi.

When I've set my t-case shifter up I adjust that bolt while the case is in 4-low. I've never had a problem in staying in any range after doing it.

Shift the case into 4-low and then loosen the bolt shown in the picture above. The next thing you need is a 1/8" drill bit (or anything 1/8" thick for that matter. If you are working alone get someone to hold it in place while you tighten the bolt. Otherwise tape it in place.

WHERE? If you sit in the Jeep and reach down into the console where the shifter pokes through. shift the lever out of the 4-low position slightly then trap the drill bit between the lever and the end of the slot. Then tighten the bolt, and remove the drill bit. This will ensure that the case engages 4-low properly and should leave it perfectly aligned for 2+4 Hi.

I've had the same problem I have a 97 with 4.5 rubicon superflex lift 1" bodylift 1" motor mount lift and slipyoke elim kit. I bought the skyjacker shift kit like U have I shortened the lower link about 1/2 inch and used a coupler nut and added more adjustment to the top link have yet to have it pop out and wheeled it hard bending things and breaking things all with the same ajustments made to the link kit
